Born and raised in Billerica, in May of 1969, Chris’ interest in art and drawing cartoons started at a very young age. At home, drawing for hours was not uncommon, and throughout school he was always doodling in notebooks, on the covers of school books and drawing caricatures of friends and teachers (some of whom did not find humor in the drawings). He attended Shawsheen Technical High School with the intent of becoming a commercial artist, however, while participating in the exploratory program of commercial Arts, the realization occurred that he could not just draw what he wanted, but what he was told to draw, and was immediately disappointed and lost interest in the program. He decided to take Electronics shop which helped him eventually become and Electrician which he has been for the last 21 years.
Never completely abandoning his love for art, he later learned a new art form; Custom Airbrushing. This took several months to learn and his skills were honed while working part time at locations like Hampton Beach, T-shirt stores in Boston and Arts & Craft fairs and shows around Massachusetts, where painting on t-shirts, jackets, pants, license plates etc. was becoming very popular.
As they say time waits for no man, and before he knew it he was married and had three beautiful children a full time job, a part time business, and very little free time. One day in March of this year, his wife Angela mentioned that he should really try to do something with this talent and his love for drawing and with that, she ignited the spark in him once more. Bric-a-Brats was born later that month, based on what he now knows best, living with three very energetic, very different, sometimes very difficult, but always loving children, in his home town.
