Citing a need for more members and fundraising plans, the seven-member committee, made up of junior and sophomore high school students, will be meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. Sandy Libby, playground co-coordinator for the Recreation Department, who has worked with the committee since its formation in May, said over $1,000 has been raised, but much more is needed.

After a year-long dry spell, Billerica’s oldest watering hole is back.
The Old Indian Spring at the Whiffle Tree Country Store, Gift Shop and Candle Co., where thirsty customers from Billerica and the surrounding towns can fill a gallon-jug of water for a mere 40 cents, has reopened for business as of Nov. 3.
