About Billerica Garden Club
For 76 years the Billerica Garden Club has been learning about gardening, developing friendships, sharing our gardening talents with members and with the community, and caring about nature.
Currently, our membership is over 55 members strong and is led by an executive board and enthusiastic committee chairpeople.
Our members range from novice to avid gardeners. And sure, many are just weekend gardeners too! But we all have one thing in common: we love to garden and we want to share what we know with our members!
Our club is dedicated to beautifying adopted areas around the town, such as Marshall Island, the Town Common, and Billerica Memorial High School Walkway.
Each May the Club holds a Plant Sale featuring perennials from members' gardens, as well as annuals and hanging baskets. We also have a booth at Yankee Doodle weekend in September. We make corsages for the annual Sweetheart Dance. Several members of the club do Garden Therapy at Life Care Nursing Home and Billerica Crossing; they planted a butterfly garden at Billerica Crossing. We also award a scholarship each year to a student who is striving to achieve a degree in the horticulture field.
The Billerica Garden Club offers fun and friendship with monthly evening programs from September through June (except January). Our members enjoy sharing gardening information and tips, plant swaps, tours of member's gardens, club committees, the New England Spring Flower Show, and other creative outlets.
(See the Activities page for more details about all these projects.)

Do you have any questions, or additions or corrections for this page?
As a member of the Billerica Garden Club, not only will you meet new friends and have a lot of fun, but you'll learn about how your garden grows! There are other advantages of membership:
Attend interesting monthly meetings, usually with fantastic topics about gardens and nature; sometimes we have speakers, other times we work on projects.
Receive the club's monthly newsletter, Town Gardener, which has interesting horticultural articles and news about the goings-on of the club. You also receive the Mayflower, a publication from the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts.
Receive a 10% discount at Grigg's Farm and the Salt Box Nursery, both in Billerica.
Tour members' gardens and participate in plant swaps.
Choose rewarding beautification projects or civic participation. Help out with our Garden Therapy or help maintain an island or memorial in town.
We ask you to work a minimum of four hours a year for town beautification. We also ask that you help out at our annual May plant sale, and donate whatever perennials you can for the sale.
After your four hours of work for the club, you will receive your official Billerica Garden Club apron.
